42nd meeting of EMG pensioners and retirees on 28.11.2019
Around 70 former staff members met at the EMG premises for the traditional pensioners' and retirees' meeting, the 42nd in a row.
The first retirees arrived early at noon to talk to their former colleagues at work and exchange news and changes.
Harald Rackel, CEO of EMG, and Stefan Köster, Chairman of the EMG Works Council, welcomed the retirees.
First, Mr. Rackel, who together with his Managing Director colleague Ingo Koesfeld also forms the Management Board of elexis AG (shareholder of EMG), discussed the economic situation of the elexis group. In total, the elexis group employs around 1,340 people worldwide, of which around 30 % are employed abroad. Currently 375 employees work at the Wenden location in Germany.
In his speech, Mr. Rackel also gave an overview of the business development of EMG and its subsidiaries. Accordingly, the political and economic conditions were not easy for elexis in the current fiscal year.
Nevertheless, EMG's incoming orders at the end of the year will still exceed the previous year's level. The company is therefore generally satisfied with the course of business and considers itself well prepared for the challenges of the coming years.
Training continues to be a high priority at EMG. After all, the trainee ratio is over 11 %. In the meantime, around 1,400 young people have received vocational training at EMG since the company was founded. In addition, trainees from up to 40 companies in the region complete their basic training and exam preparation at EMG. This reflects the good reputation of the EMG training, says Rackel.
Mr. Rackel concluded by emphasizing that EMG continues to feel close to its former employees and will continue the tradition of the annual meeting in the future.
As in previous years, there was also an increase in company pensions in the 2019 financial year.
Stefan Köster, Chairman of the Works Council, then welcomed the retirees. The comfortable part of the afternoon began with the handing over of a small present.
