EMG trainee project "We fulfil children's wishes"
In 2020, a year that was extraordinarily difficult for all of us, EMG Automation GmbH participated for the first time in the widespread Christmas tree campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to fulfil Christmas wishes, in this special case the foster children from the Josefshaus Olpe.
The Josefshaus is a stationary children's and youth welfare facility, in which more than 180 children, adolescents and young adults live in 20 residential and reception groups, in 10 socio-pedagogical living communities as well as in socio-pedagogically assisted living. It was a matter of the heart for the EMG staff to remain socially committed even in the difficult time of 2020 and to bring joy to these children and young people, some of whom have experienced terrible blows of fate.
Through the trainees of EMG, who had the idea for the project "We fulfil children's wishes" and also organised this independently, a Christmas tree was put up in the EMG production facility at the end of November, where the company employees could find the 35 wish lists of the children.
The participation of EMG employees in this great project was overwhelming. Already on the first day of the campaign, all of the children's wish lists were sold out. However, as many other employees wanted to participate in the project, a donation box was quickly set up for the Josefshaus. These donations will be used in the Josefshaus for investments such as a trampoline or personal development in the form of experiential education.
The trainee project team of EMG was able to hand over the ready packed presents for the children to the Josefshaus on December 17th, 2020, in compliance with the corona protection measures. In addition, the donation box with an amount of 1.000,- € was handed over.
