EMG Automation GmbH awarded as family-friendly company
Regional Councillors Andreas Müller and Frank Beckehoff hand over certificates
"You clearly belong to the top league in terms of family-friendliness! For this you will be awarded today and I would like to congratulate you all warmly!" District Administrator Andreas Müller (Siegen-Wittgenstein) said at the presentation of the certificates "Family-friendly company" to eight companies from the districts of Siegen-Wittgenstein and Olpe. His Olper colleague Frank Beckehoff emphasized:"Investing in family friendliness like you will make it easier to find employees in the future. This strengthens our own company and benefits us as a region as a whole."
More than 60 guests accepted the invitation to the award ceremony at the house of the Siegerländer Wirtschaft.
EMG TOP. JOB awarded for a wide range of offers to improve the compatibility of family and career
"Since 2009, we have been combining all activities and measures under our EMG TOP. JOB project and can now look at a wide range of offers and opportunities," says Mandy Wörder, Head of Human Resources at EMG Automation GmbH.
Whether it is flexible and individual working hours, holiday programs for children, parent-child office, health care in the form of an annual health day or a perspective discussion for older employees – the EMG, like other certified companies, offers its employees the most diverse possibilities to reconcile the needs of their families with the requirements of work. All of the awarded companies rely on individual, family-friendly measures that make it easier for employees to reconcile work and child-raising with caring for parents or grandparents.
The award winners went through several milestones in the certification process, including extensive check-ups during a personal on-site assessment and interviews with several employees. Finally, a regional jury decided on the award of the certificates.
"Competentia" organises certification process
The certification process "Family-friendly company" in Siegen-Wittgenstein and Olpe was organised by the Competence Center for Women and Work, in short Competentia. It is supported by funds from the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the European Regional Development Fund. Last year, nine domestic companies were honoured for the first time. In the second round, ten companies had now embarked on the certification process, which was finally successfully completed by seven of them in addition to EMG.
