Development of an air-zinc accumulator for the storage of electricity gained by wind power or photovoltaics (ZLA)
A new project, planned by EMG, involves constructing and building various sizes of air-to-zinc accumulators and determining their respective charging and discharging cycles under practical conditions. The most important technical-scientific objectives are, among others, the "optimal dimensionality" of the basic module (stack) including battery management as well as the scalability of the modules into an accumulator (system integration).
The project makes a significant contribution to the objectives of the lead market competition EnergieUmweltwirtschaft.NRW (EnergyEnvironment.NRW) and to the country's innovation strategy.
Process diagnostics and integrated control to increase the efficiency of hot rolling mills for rod steel and wire (PIREF)
The aim of the project is the realisation of a reliable automation of the hot-rolling process of rod steels and wires for efficiency and quality improvement. By means of an in-situ diagnosis of the rolled product with real-time measurement technology, powerful control strategies are to be developed using forming models, which allow a flexible adaptation of the rolling process to the current manufacturing influences.
Within the project EMG focuses on the realisation and testing of the sensor technology.
