  • Safeguarding and transferring the existing knowledge and know-how at EMG

Flexible working hours/home office

We offer our employees flexible working hours with flexitime and core working hours, as well as lifelong working time accounts if required. This allows them, for example, to take an extended leave of absence to care for relatives.
It is also possible for a home office workplace to be set up in individual cases.

Tariff commitment

EMG is bound to the tariffs of the metal and electrical industry of NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia).

EMG Academy – Continuing education as an opportunity for everyone

The aim of our internal professional development programme, the so-called EMG Academy, is to provide all of our employees with the opportunity to continuously enhance their own skills and level of knowledge.

EMG Think tank

Continuous improvement of the working environment involves utilising the experiences and ideas of our employees and incorporating them into the organisation. To take advantage of these experiences we created the EMG think tank, where employees can submit their suggestions for improvement and participate personally in any potential savings implemented.


Our premises in Wenden boasts a cafeteria which offers a varied and diverse range of healthy food and beverages.

Parent/child office

We have had a parent/child office here since 2013, which features a fully equipped office space for mum or dad and a play corner for the next EMG generation. EMG offers this workplace to its employees if there is a sudden change to any childcare plans.

Parental leave

EMG offers its employees the opportunity to work from home or in a part-time capacity on an individual basis. To avoid losing contact during their parental leave, our new parents are still invited to attend company events and they regularly receive our employee magazine "EMG Aktuell" (EMG News).

Certificate "Family-friendly Company"

A family-friendly personnel policy is very important to us. It not only benefits our employees, but also our company itself.

At the beginning of 2018, all of the above-mentioned measures and offers for a better work-life balance implemented within the framework of the TOP. JOB project at EMG led to the official certification as a "family-friendly company" for EMG.

The Competence Center Women and Profession, or Competentia for short, has been organising this certification annually since 2017. The certification process includes several milestones, including extensive check-ups during a personal on-site assessment and interviews with several employees at the participating companies. Finally, a regional jury decides on the allocation of the certificates.
