Three-roller steering stand – Type SRHT

In the case of high strip tension and/or thick strip material it is recommended that a three-roller steering stand type SRHT is used for strip running correction without deflection of the strip. Achieving a good steering effect requires sufficient adhesion between the strip and rollers. The degree of adhesion is determined by the roll diameter and the immersion depth of the central roller.

The swivel frame with the three rollers is guided via two steering levers so that a suitable combination of the angle formation between the strip and roll axis (I-portion) and a lateral displacement of the strip (P-portion) is achieved. In addition to the exact outlet position of the strip, a centring effect is also produced in the inlet zone. The application shown here with a very short inlet zone can only be realised in combination with an upstream strip guiding system.

The most stringent requirements concerning the guiding accuracy of the strip are imposed on the strip guiding system upstream of the edge trimming shears. On the one hand, the edge strip must be kept as small as possible, and on the other hand, there must be a defined minimum width to prevent the edge from tearing off. For exact detection of the strip position, the high-precision Inductive strip centre measuring system type SMI-HE shown here or the HF alternating light measuring system EVK/EVM is used.
