Inductive strip position measurement in wet sections
This inductive IMR system, which has a centre sensing accuracy ± 5 mm is recommended for use in an aggressive and humid environment such as in strip pickling or cleaning lines with pickling agent temperatures of up to 80 °C. Four encapsulated measuring coils of tubular design are inserted into non-metallic sheathing tubes which are resistant to the agent, and which are led across the treatment tank above and below the strip. Depending on the selected centre position sensors, the system may be used for sensing centre deviations on strip having a width of 550, 950 or 1550 mm.
