Digital strip position controller
The type SPC digital strip controller combines advanced µC technology with 40 years of experience in the reliable interplay between sensor systems, control engineering and drive systems in the field of strip guidance. It caters for a large range of measuring systems for strip position sensing and for controlled centre position of the actuator, it evaluates the measured signals from the sensors, determines deviations between reference and actual values and boosts them up to the modulation range required for the drive system. In the case of movable sensor systems, the digital strip controller also triggers the positioning devices driven by electric motors.
Strip guidance systems on the uncoiler, equipped with HF alternating light measuring systems with protection against extraneous light or with dead time compensation, various strip guidance systems in the process line using stationary, inductive strip centre position sensing devices and the extremely precise strip edge and strip centre guidance systems upstream of the trimming shears or on the coiler, are all accomplished using the type SPC digital strip controller. The control functions are defined and documented using the graphical programming surface logiCAD/32. Since programming is easy, new findings and new cycles can be constantly incorporated, even on line. The hardware can also be used for creating other rapid control processes.
