Strip guidance on the uncoiler

With remote sensing equipment

In the case of fully automatic lines, the sensing equipment must often be installed downstream of the stationary deflector roll because of the presence of various auxiliary devices installed in the uncoiler area. As a result, a delay occurs between the adjustment of the uncoiler and detection of the effect by the sensing equipment, which leads to instability of the control loop, especially in the case of strip running at low speed.

The patented EMG 'dead-time compensation' which takes account of the strip speed and the uncoiler adjustment in a position control loop ensures stable guidance. However, a certain inertia in the control loop cannot be avoided, as it is not possible to fully correct dynamic faults of short duration. The strip guidance system on the uncoiler can also be connected to the first guide roller to form an integrated system.
