Strip guidance
In a chemical processing installation with SRHQ steering stand
The SRHQ type pinch-roll steering stand is arranged downstream of a long free distance. Strip deflection is not necessary when there is adequate adherence between strip and rollers.
For safe guidance in the case of oiled and/or thick strip or when there is a high strip tension, we recommend that a double pinch-roll steering stand or a three-roll steering stand of the SRHT type is used.
The swivelling frame with the pinch-rolls is guided by two steering levers so that a suitable combination of the angles between the strip and the roll axis (I portion) and lateral displacement of the strip (P portion) is achieved. In addition to obtaining the exact position of the strip at the exit, a centering effect is achieved at the entry.
For strip position sensing, the IMR inductive sensing system is used. It is suitable for an aggressive and humid atmosphere and is used in strip pickling or cleaning lines with pickling agent temperatures of up to 80° C. Four encapsulated measuring coils of tubular design are inserted into non-metallic sheathing tubes which are resistant to the agent, and which are led across the treatment tank above and below the strip.
