Acquisition of Protagon GmbH in Rengsdorf, Germany

After a longer period of preliminary talks EMG Automation GmbH has acquired company Protagon GmbH in Rengsdorf , Germany, backdated to October 1st, 2009. We have taken over the majority of 51 % of the previous shareholders.

We are convinced that with Protagon we have acquired a profitable engineering company which will strengthen our segment Quality Assurance Systems and positively complete our existing product portfolio.

On the one hand, it is about complementary product solutions for the metal segment such as pinhole detection or special layer thickness measurement systems. On the other hand we would like to develop a new and additional market for EMG Automation GmbH within the converting segment beside others with layer thickness- or coating weight measurement systems. Additionally, new and innovative developments are also planned for the future.
