Employment Minister (NRW) Karl-Josef Laumann visits EMG

On August 2, 2006 the North Rhine-Westphalia's Secretary of State for Employment, Karl-Josef Laumann, started his nine days' training tour at EMG Automation GmbH. During his training tour through 19 companies in North Rhine-Westphalia Laumann wants to procure additional apprenticeship places and at the same time to promote the dual training system and the support measures involved of his Ministry of Employment.

For EMG, however, an advertising campaign of that kind was not at all necessary. Since its foundation in 1946 the company has focussed, among other things, on the training of young people through its apprentice training scheme. At present 46 boys and girls as well as 34 more trainees from 20 domestic enterprises are employed at EMG. In EMG's training shop they all receive an industry-wide training.

Furthermore the managing directors of EMG, Siegfried Koepp and Edgar Michael Schäfer announced the recruitment of 2 additional trainees and also of a young man from the juvenile organization "Förderband".

"I'm delighted about the work that is done here", admitted Karl-Josef Laumann during his visit at EMG. "As well as in Wendenerhütte the readiness for industrial training could work in many other companies too."

As the employment minister Laumann did start his tour at EMG, the mass media (WDR-TV and radio, RTL, SAT 1, Radio Siegen and the local press) were very much interested in this event.
