Due to the continuously increasing quality demands for the end product as well as the frequent liability about a complete documentation of the production process, a reliable online measurement of the coating thickness becomes more and more essential.

Based on the huge number of different carrier materials and possible coating combinations, which often present the increase in value of the coated metal strip, paper or foil, it is decisive to select the right coating thickness measuring sensor. This sensor has to measure the base weight as well as the thickness of the respective coating precisely and independent from the properties of the substrate.

ConSens, the Protagon family of sensors, therefore comprises several layer thickness and base weight measuring sensors, ranging from radiometric and X-ray to infrared sensors protected by patented technology – the ideal solution for every application.
