EMG training becomes digital
Digitisation is rapidly changing the working world. In-company training must also be adapted to this change. EMG Automation GmbH has now taken a step in this direction and, as a pilot project, has equipped all trainees of the first year of apprenticeship with iPads.
These were handed over to the trainees on Wednesday, 6 December 2017, by managing director Marc Nedecky, the chairman of the works council Stefan Köster and EMG's training directors, Rony Brüser and Lena Rawe.
The first apps have already been selected by the training leaders and installed on the tablets. These include a report booklet app as well as learning support for the various training occupations. But the trainees also have the task of researching and testing out other apps that are useful for their training. In regular meetings with the training supervisors, they are then scrutinized together.
In addition to personal responsibility and creativity, EMG also wants to promote the trainees' IT and media skills. It is particularly important to us that the trainees learn how valuable digital media is in their professional lives and that, in addition to Snapchat and Instagram, there are a number of valuable apps that can be used very well in the context of training,"says Lena Rawe.
The trainees were very happy about the iPads that took the place of the voluntary Christmas bonus this year.
